A move to amend and perhaps sunset the Show Me the Water ordinance stalled in a Maui County Council committee on a 3-3 vote Tuesday.

Water Resources Committee Chairman Mike Victorino at first said he would file the measure, but Council Member Mike White asked him to hold off, since the committee had agreed without controversy to a few amendments to the bill.

Victorino said he would resume work on the revisions in mid-January.

Council Member Joe Pontanilla joined Hokama and Elle Cochran in voting against the sunset provision.
