KCC Presents S. Maui Water Issues

What are Watersheds? Where are they in South Maui?

Water may be the most talked about item on Maui, but often the talk is uneducated or uninformed. This month’s Kihei Community Association (KCA) meeting 7/19/11 brings two guests who most certainly have lots of knowledge to share, water quality expert Robin Knox of the South West Maui watershed groups and County Water Department Director (& former Director of the Wastewater Division of Environmental Management Department,) Dave Taylor. After Robin offers a presentation on South Maui’s Watersheds, she and Dave will participate in a panel with KCA president Jon Miller.
Preceding this, County Staff Planner Gina Flammer will offer information on a proposal for changes in short term rentals, followed by elected representatives, Senator Roz Baker and State Representative George Fontaine, who will give brief presentations on their latest issues. The KCA encourages everyone to join the Association, All are welcome at 6:00 PM to talk story with neighbors and enjoy pupu, as meeting commences at 6:30 PM. at the Kihei Charter Middle school at 41 E Lipoa. Non-perishable food donations for the Maui Food Bank are strongly encouraged. Mahalo. Call 879-5390 for more information copy and images.
