Public testimony will be taken on a bill that would change the way homes are taxed on agricultural property during meetings throughout Maui County this month.
The Maui County Council Budget and Finance Committee meetings begin at 6 p.m. with the following dates and locations:
* Wednesday, Lahaina Civic Center.
* Friday, Lanai Community Center.
* Jan. 24, Helene Social Hall, Hana.
* Jan. 25, Lokelani Intermediate School cafeteria, Kihei.
* Jan. 26, Mitchell Pauole Center, Kaunakakai.
* Jan. 30, Kalama Intermediate School cafeteria, Makawao.
* Jan. 31, Council Chambers, eighth floor, 200 S. High St., Wailuku.
The bill would require the land under homes on agricultural property to be taxed in the same way as other residential lots.
